Oh wow... this feels so much more awkward than I anticipated.Hmm, I hope that I become accustomed in due course to this relatively new science known as 'blogging' ... because right now I feel like a prize idiot. In fact, I feel like a loony, nutters, deranged, mental, whacked, barmy idiot who likes talking to themself.
Moving on! Geez, I hope the rest of my blogs don't turn out like this. I was originally inspired to create this after I discovered that a past member of my school was completing a GAP year in the very same school in which I will be working. He had a travel blog (though with his own domain name - how lucky) for the year, and I really enjoyed reading his entries. I get the feeling, however, that this blog will become more of a personal-journal-style blog than an informative one... we shall just have to see how it turns out. Perhaps no-one will read this and I really WILL be talking to myself!
My travels begin in just four days time when I catch a plane from Brisbane International Airport to the USA, namely Los Angeles. I stay in the 'City of Angles' for three days before catching a plane down to Mexico City where I am staying with a friend I met in Japan. On the 29th of December, after experiencing a Mexican Christmas, I fly off again to London, where the weather will be quite noticeably colder. I spend New Years Eve/Day in Brighton/London, and after that I fly to Edinburgh. I have to stay one night in a hostel/B&B before I am picked up by my school on the 5th. And then the work will begin ;-) Oh, and from here to London I am not travelling by myself (I won't be the cause of my parents' heart attacks just yet), but with my good friend, Tamsin.
I could blab on for hours about all the preparations and expectations and considerations but it is already getting into the wee hours of the morning (so Scottish already =P)) and my Dad has already come out once to tell me that I should get some sleep. So, due to my time constraints, I will mention only one more thing:
TWILIGHT IS RELEASED TODAY!!! I have already booked my 1:00pm ticket and I am SO excited. Seriously, I have been counting down to this day - and I know it seems absurd to be this enthused about a movie as I am about to embark on possibly the most exciting year of my life... but... I can't help being a crazily romantist teenage girl, can I?
=)
